ABOUT US

A Bit of Background

Here at Family Crisis Network, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We proudly work with the community of Pend Oreille County in Washington, to help prevent and advocate in matters of domestic violence, sexual assault, all other crimes, and homelessness.  We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our clients and our community.

Family Crisis Network began in 1982 whose sole function was a 24 hour domestic violence hotline, manned entirely by volunteers in the basement of the United Church of Christ in Newport.

Over the many years since, the single operation grew to function as a non-profit organization and now provides services in our community with a variety of available programs. Our funding is supported by many State, Local, and Federal grants, as well as private foundation funding, and local contributions from business and individual donors, to which we are very grateful.

Our most recent addition to the program was the development of the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) in 2019. Our CAC is still in the accreditation 'developing' stage, but it is fully operational. The CAC provides a safe and comfortable place for children and teens who have been abused and/or neglected to be interviewed with professionally trained staff.

Family Crisis Network currently has a staff of 11 and is ever expanding.  Our Housing Program has been expanding rapidly as many housing issues have arisen due to the pandemic.

All of us at FCN are proud to serve the community of Pend Oreille County and look forward to many more years of doing so.
